Can I Drink Beer After Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Surgery?

I had my lap coly surgery 10 days back. I am back to normal food and am facing no problems. I was advised to avoid alcohol for a little while. Though I know beer is also an alcoholic drink, just wanted to confirm whether even a mug of beer should be avoided. If yes, could you please explain the consequenses. Thanks
