Can I Be Pregnant If My Periods Are Delayed?

Hi doctor,

me and my husband has unprotected sex on fifth day of my period. i got my last period on jan 1st. i was on perfect 28 days cycle but this month still i didnt get my period. i had a home test (urine test) which shows a negative result.
but im little afraid because im not ready to have a baby now. what can i do next

Hello,

Unprotected sex on 5th day of period is EXTREMELY SAFE and there is NO chance of pregnancy. Hormonal imbalance and mental stress can cause late period. You should wait few more days and repeat the test. In case of NEGATIVE test again, you can take Norethisterone pill to induce period. Good luck.
