hi! my question is about the recall on haprin flush vials . i had outpatient surgery on my left hand dupyatrene contracture ,on september 7- 2007 in shreveport La. i was so sick i threw up all day and some of the next day after surgery. but was still discharged from hospital on september 8- 2007. i was still sick and could not walk for my back was hurting so bad ,and my throat was so sore , i had bad headaches and vomiting,i went to the west monroe LA.Orthopedic dr.and he admitted me into the hospital for 3 days on september 13 th 2007 5 days after surgery ran a lot of test on even called in an neurologist in monroe La. and they could not tell me what was wrong with me. i would like to know according to what i have read could i have gotten a bacterria from the iv flush in my right arm? i have asked ,according to the dr . and the anesthesiologist in shreveport LA. they used an adult mask on me and nothing was put down my throat that is what they said.infact i paid for 2 adult mask . they would not tell me why but my question is could i have gotten an infection from the iv from the solution flush in my iv and could the flush solution have caused me to have a paralysed left vocal cord? i have had so many kidney infections in the last 3 years. never before my surgery a kidney infection,and i have had dry patchy skin in different areas of my body.i have been treated for so many sinus infections,after surgery!! could a complete blood test tell if i did get infected from any bacterria ?I have a call into my DR. now to do a blood test on me. i still have a paralysed left vocal cord,i am to scared to try any kind of surgery because there is no gaurantee i would not have any voice at all and i would have to have a treck in my neck... i was dianose by the ENT specialist on january 6 - 2008 4 months after my surgery because i could not get my voice back. i was 54 years old at the time of surgery , i am going on 57 now i have tried to find out what happened to me on september 7 2007 i went into the hospital for a left hand dupytrene contracure on september 7-2007 and in great health i have proof from my internist dr. donald saying i was in perfect health, how could i come out of the hospital with a paralysed vocal cord and have my life turned upside down i can t get an answer..espically when i get chocked and can hardly breath,i get so scared and mad because i would like to know what happened to me. i am 5 8 i weigh 165 pounds.I HAVE HAD A MRI OF THE BRAIN, AND BRAIN STEM, NECK, CHEST, BODY LENGTH, AND CAT SCAN, X RAYS,URINE TEST, IT SHOWED I DO NOT HAVE CANCER NOR ANY SIST, NO BLOOD CLOTS, NO HEMORAGE, NO STROKE, NO HEART ATTACK, THE ENT SPECIALIST PUT A CAMERA DOWN MY NOSE TO THE TOP OF MY THROAT NO CANCER ONLY PARALYSIS, NOTHING I WENT TO SPECIALIST, THEY ALL SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING BUT SIST ON MY LIVER AND I GET CAT SCANS OF MY LIVER REGULARLY NOW AT THE REQUEST OF MYSELF AND MY DR.. BUT THAT DID NOT CAUSE MY LEFT VOCAL CORD PARALYSES. WHAT HAPPENED IN THE 133 MINUTES I WAS UNDER A SURGICAL MASK ANESTHESIA WITH NO TUBES IN MY THROAT THE DR. SAID.??? NOONE CAN ANSWER THIS I WISHED I HAD AN ANSWER .BUT I DID HAVE ALL THE TEST RAN ON ME KNOWN TO MAN SWALLOWING TEST, SPEACH THERAPHY , I HAVE HAD A PAPSMEAR 3 IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. ULTRA SOUND ON MY BODY LENGTH 3 IN THE LAST 3 YEARS, MAMOGRAM 3 IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. I WAS THE 16 PATIENT IN THE NEW HOSPITAL IN SHREVEPORT LA. THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST THAT PUT THE LEFT ARM BLOCK IN THAT DID NOT NUMB MY LEFT ARM , WAS NOT THE CRNA THAT WAS IN SURGERY ON SEPTEMBER 7 2007 WITH ME.I WAS WONDERING IF IT COULD HAVE BEEN A FAULTY MASK (2 WAS USED)?
