Can I Acquire HIV By Using An Old Shaving Razor?

hi,today i went to a saloon,the saloon was blank,,after cutting my hair,i told him for shaving,,the razor blade is changed by the barber,in front of me...and after shaving aftershave(axe) used,,but he did some scratches in my faces,,.the razor was old,,..what is the chances of hiv,., plz,do reply i am very tensed.......

In my opinion there is a risk for transmission of HIV or HCV (hepatitis C virus) any time you come into contact with infected blood. However, you never had a risk of hiv transmission from the situation you described even if there was blood on the blade and it contained the virus it would become inactive as soon as it left its living host and therefore would lose its ability to infect. The hiv virus only survives for a very short amount of time outside the body. SO you are absolutely fine and not infected.
