Can Hucog Injection Be Taken During Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor, my wife is 28yrs old and currently doctor is conformed 8 weeks pregenancy and they have adviced to take hucog hp 500 injection and okwel 250 injection for every week. is it advisable to take this injection. may i know the reason behind this injection to be take please. thanks in advance.

Hi, hucog hp and okwel injection is given to support the pregnancy. Hucog contains hcg and okwel is a progesterone containing injection. So, these are generally prescribed to support the pregnancy till 12 weeks. After that, placenta secretes hcg and progesterone enough to support the pregnancy.
