Can Heptral Or Ursocol Cause Frequent Urination?

I am prescribed Heptral 400 mg for fatty liver twice a day. I am experiencing frequent urination, almost every hour. I checked my fasting blood sugar this morning, and it was 96. Can Heptral or Ursocol cause frequent urination? I am drinking a lot of water and fluids, however.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. The medicines you are taking are not the cause of the frequent urination you are experiencing. As you are informing that you are taking a lot of fluids and water, it might make you urinate frequently.

The reasons other that diabetes that can cause frequent urination include presence of mild urinary tract infection or prostate enlargement if you are a male. If you have doubts that you have to urinate more than your intake of fluids, you should consult a urologist for prostate examination and urine analysis for ruling out presence of infection.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
