Can Gemfibrozil Cause Sore Muscles In The Arms?
It s about 6 months that I can t raise my arms without shoulder pain. It s sore muscles. But I don t exercise at all. So, basically I can flap my arms. When I lift them it s painful and I feel very weak. What s your recommendation? (BTW I do take Gemfibrozil to control my triglyceride and muscle ache is listed as one of it s side effects)

Gemfibrozil is known to produce muscle aches. It is not recommended to continue the drug without evaluation if you have persisting or increasing muscle aches.
You need serum Cretine Phospho kinase test done to see the severity of muscle injury. It is ideal not to exercise till you are out of the drug. You may consult your doctor who will prescribe an alternative drug that might suit you.
