Hi there..Welcome to HCM..
I am Dr Jigar( ID specialist).
I appreciate your question as it has multifacet answer and needs awareness of
HPV infection and role of
vaccine.
HPV has many types but vaccine covers only some of the very important types of HPV. So it should be very clear to you that other types can lead to same lesion to which you are not protected.
Also vaccine is more effective in adolescent age or before starting sexual exposures. But still it is helpful in other cases also.
Now coming to your specific query yes you need to complete 3 doses in particular schedule. If you missed any dose then you should immediately inform your doctor and he will decide whether it is still okay to take missed dose or not.
Regarding safety of this vaccine, overall it is very safe but side effects like pain, itching, burning,
fever,
dizziness can occur. Also severe reaction can occur rarely if you are allergic to contents of vaccine. In your case i don't see any problem as you already have taken 2 shots.
I hope i have justified it. Do give your feedback.
Take care.
Dr Jigar.
