Can Femilon Pills Cause Chest Pain?

My daughter,26, was operated upon for ovarian cyst about two years ago. she has since been taking femilon pills as advised by her doctor. Now she complains of chest pain. Is it the side effect of the drug and how serious can be its implication? She is yet to get married and has been asked to take the medicine for two years after surgery.

Hello,
Thanks for letting us know your health concern. While using hormone contraception, it is essential to get regular check up because of the possible effects on the function of the liver, kidney, cardiovascular system and so on. Chest pain can be a side effect of the pill. I would ask you to get immediate medical attention to exclude any thrombo-embolic cause. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
