Hi,

I understand your concern.

Having irregular heartbeat could be due to:
- heart problems (arrhythmia)
- anxiety
- post infarct complications

Diltiazem is a medication of calcium-channel blocker group. It can be used to stabilize angina (chest pain), high blood pressure, or even heart rhythm disorders.

If your doctor prescribed diltiazem, I think you got through angina problems with irregular heartbeat. As you are having the episode again recently, if I was your caring doctor would advise to get a further cardiac check up (ECG, Holter monitoring, echocardiogram) in order to evaluate heart status.

Magnesium is an important element especially in relaxing the muscles. When arrhythmia, the heart muscles are not functioning regularly. Magnesium supplement will help with relaxation and stabilizing arrhythmia.

No harm from using it within the recommended daily dosage.
You should talk to your doctor if you decide to take it.
All the best!
