Can Diltiazem And Amlodipine Be Taken Together?
Hi, Can Diltiazem and Amlodipine be taken together. I was wondering because they are both calcium channel blockers. I also know Diltiazem calms the heart down and Amlodipine opens the veins. So, I think they can be taken together just want to make sure. Thanks

There is potential for serious adverse reaction between Diltiazem and Amlodipine.
This is by affecting CYP3A4 enzyme. Possible serious or life threatening interaction. Amlodipine effect may be increased up to 60% and hence better to avoid the combination and if used, should be monitored closely for adverse events.
