Can Depakote And Lamictal Causes Rashes?

I ve been taking keppra 500 mg 3 tabs 2xdaily, vimpat 200 mg 1 tab 2xdaily and depakote 250 mg 2 tabs 2xdaily. All these meds I have been on for 6 years. My doctor want me to stop the depakote cold turkey and replace with lamictal starter kit then 100 mg 1 tab 2xdaily. I m not comfortable with this. These meds are used for my seizures. After researching depakote and lamictal should not be taken together. I know it will take some time to get the depakote out my system. I also learn the two meds could cause a rash which could be deadly. Could anyone offer me some advice?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Though some of the depakote would remain in your body after the final dose, the amount present would be consistently declining.

This means that there should be little or no interaction with the lamictal.

You should be able to start the lamictal safely.

I hope this helps
