Can CLR Cause Bronchitis?

Hi, I have developed a cough, chest feels tight, like bronchitis is coming on...My question is this, 3 days ago I cleaned my glass shower door with a cleaner called CLR, stupidly I went inside the shower and closed the glass doors in order to spray the liquid on the entires doors. The bathroom door closed, I immediately felt a sting in my throat and my tongue felt sore..... although the MSDS states that it is not toxic, it does state that it should not be inhaled...Could this have been an irritant and the cause of my cough? What should I do?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, chemicals when inhaled, can cause bronchitis. It is known as inhalational bronchitis.
Cleaning solutions are mostly containing chlorine, fluorine etc.
And these chemicals, on inhalation cause inflammation and irritation in airways.
So bronchitis is common after such incidence.
Your all symptoms are suggestive of bronchitis only.
These are usually self limiting, once you come out of the room and inhale fresh air.
But sometimes antihistamines and anti inflammatory drugs are needed to suppress cough and inflammation.
In severe cases where patient is having shortness of breath, inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) are also needed.
So in my opinion, you should inhale fresh air, start antihistamines and anti inflammatory drugs.
You will mostly improve with these. If not improving then you may need inhaled treatment.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
