Can Azithromycin Be Taken For Possible Recurred Chlamydia?

Hi, 2 years before my doctor discovered chlamydia in my body. He prescribed to me sumamed 500MG (daily for 5 days) and Doxycycline (every 12h for 5 days). I made regular test just to make sure I m not being re-infected. But after a 1 year I started seeing small white pimples next to my penis. They diapered after 3 months but after that I had a red pimple on my penis head. This pimple stayed more than 1 month on my penis head (each time I had strong alcoholic drinks in the next morning I saw a liquid discharge) but than after more than one month it disappeared. Today, after almost 1 year, I discovered that the red pimple is trying to re-aper in the exact same place on my penis head that it was before. Can I take a one time dose of 2g Azithromycin? (in my case I have to take 4 x 500mg sumamed oraly) (this is just once right? does this help). Thanks,

Hello
Diagnosis is clear but the important thing is reinfection .
So these measures may help you, these include:
Take treatment with your sex partners.
No sexual intercourse for 7 days after single dose regimen or until completion of the 7-days course , and until all partners are treated.
Azithromycin 2 gm in a single dose with pantaprazole 40 mg , THIS IS MOST EFFECTIVE AND ACCEPTED TREATMENT FOR CHLAMYDIA .
OR
Doxycyclin 100 mg orally twice in day for 7-14 days.
Retest 3 months after treatment or any time patient seeks medical care in the following 3 to 12 months after treatment because there is HIGH risk of reinfection in these patients.
As in your case it recurs so be careful because high rates of REINFECTION are associated with younger age, history of previous STDs & or risky sexual behaviors .
Hope this will help you.
