Can Augmentin Cause Extreme Irritation?
My 8 month old baby was prescribed augmentin for an ear infection. However, he is EXTREMELY irritable now that he is on the medicine and won't eat much and rarely sleeps lying down. The medicine is so much worse than the infection. Is this normal????

Augmentin is a good medicine for Ear Infections / otitis media. This is possible and may be due to disturbed bacterial flora of the intestinal tracts due to Augmentin as it contains Amoxicillin
Try giving probiotic available in powder form, if this does not help consult a Pediatrician for a change of an antibiotic.
Normally patients bellow the age of 3 years tolerate medicines well.
