Hello, I have recently developed an inner thigh to back of left thigh burning sensation,. Just spent three days in a car travelling and thought it could be a heat rash of some sort...now I wonder if I have shingles..I have had shingles 5x (all primarily on the left shoulder, arm area) over 15 years--type A personality etc. The nerve pain is very similiar could it be shingles in a new place? Very stressful 2013 menopausal, breast cancer scare in May 49 female, happily married 14 yrs, non smoker, no drugs, rare social drinker, 5'2 108 lbs

Hi
I have read your question and I believe that shingles is a possibility, but should soon develop the typical rash you have seen before.
However other condition may give similar symptoms, such as nerve entrapment in the spine.
other option could be blood clot in the thigh veins as you had long period of immobilisation during your travel, but with this serious condition you should have swelling and redness in the thigh. if so you should be seen by doctor urgently.
