Burning Feeling In Chest, Occasional Heart Flutters, Bad Panic Attacks. Elevated Crp Levels. Worried About Arotic Dissection

Hello, For a week or so now I have been feeling burning in my chest through my back from the center of my chest to the center oft back. I occasionally get heart flutters which scares me to the point I began to have very very bad panic attacks. I had a elevated cardio crp level which I was told was due to my weight.....I have had 4 stress test this year, numerous of ekg s and 2 chest ct scan with contrast also a v-cue scan because my d-dimer was elevated. I have had a Doppler test done on my legs and left arm. I have had the full cardiac work up blood pressure while resting and standing in both arms all normal constant blood work all normal except vitamin d and in April vole sterol was total 248 and now recently 3 wks ago total was 151....however I was taking statins but not on a daily basis due to me forgetting. I have terrible anxiety and tons of stress I just feel as if I m falling apart and I m very afraid it can be cardiac and it s being missed....also I m worried about aortic dissection please help!

Dear patient,

Thanks for the query. With so many negative imaging tests done, the possibility of aortic dissection is extremely small. You should find ways to relax and reduce stress, since this affects the cardiovascular system; probably the best way would be regular aerobic exercise, since it would help both the anxiety and your lipid profile. Taking your statin daily is very important for sure, since it is a once daily medication, you can take it either in the morning with breakfast or at night before bed; set the pill in a place that you have to "go through" in the morning or evening.

Hope this helps, yours truly,
