Burning And Popping Inner Side Of Knee With Severe Pain, Fluid. Suggested Surgery For Tear In Cartilage, Repair Of MPFL, MCL, CM. Second Opinion Needed?

I feel and hurt my knee it now burns on the inner side and pops
My doctor did an X-ray and MRI and suggested surgery to repair MPFL MCL, CM and I was told I also had a tear in the cartilage behind the knee I assume the meniscus! The surgeon he referred me to said I need physical therapy or injections! I'm in severe pain with the burning aching stinging down to my foot and I also have fluid. Do I need a second opinion ?

Hi and welcome to HCM
As per MRI report, it seems to be meniscal and ligament injury. If the tear is more you need arthroscopic repair. If the tear is minimal, then it can be managed conservatively by physiotherapy. I suggest you to get it evaluated by your surgeon.
Hope this will helps you. Take care.
