Bumps On Lips, Tingling, Causing Anxiety. Fordyce Spots?

I recently thought that I had HSV 1 because my lips felt like sandpaper and then I noticed tiny bumps on them. They didn t necessarily hurt, but when exposed to too much sunlight or certain foods (usually spicy) I would feel what I thought was a tingling sensation. The bumps can t be seen by others, but I can see a bunch of little white ones in the corner of my mouth and also under the surface of my top lip. The bumps do not go away (been 3 months now), do not pop, do not get bigger, and have really only caused me anxiety . Question is, could this be Fordyce and has it ever been reported that Fordyce can cause slight irritation when exposed to the sun light or spicy food?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Ford y c e spot usually does not cause irritation while exposed to sunlight or spicy food.

The bumps can be of oral sub mucous fibrosis type, which usually a g g revates while intake of spicy foods.

I would advice you to maintain oral hygiene well.

Avoid spicy foods.

Plenty of fruits as well as nutritious rich diet has to be administered.

Topical steroids has to be applied on the affected area.

Take care.
