1. Painless, small diffuse swellings beneath skin present throughout body is usually lipomatosis
. Its nothing but swelling containing fat cells. other condition which mimics is neurofibromatosis. Both these swellings are felt initially, but some times they grow very slowly. In that case they become visible also.
2. Usually they dont cause any problems unless they are nearby any nerve
/ joint / closed cavity causing pressure symptoms, which mandates surgical removal of the particular swelling. So, just leave them as such, they are benign.
3. Surgery is also indicated if they turn painful or infected or cosmetically making you to worry.
