Bruises Appearing And Disappearing On Legs, Under Stress. Any Ideas?
I've noticed bruises appearing and disappearing on my legs for unknown reasons a few weeks now. Since I was young I've had small red dots like bruises on my leg every once in a while but this is different. They are bigger and once the old bruise heal days later a new one appear. Sometimes in a different place, sometimes the same spot.. My diet hasn't been the best plus I been stressing. I been reading alot on what can cause this. Still I wonder.
The purpuric spots and bruises are occurring probably due to a underlying blood defect.this may involve low levels of platelets like in Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) or clotting factor deficiencies as in haemophilia. You need to be investigated for bleeding time, clotting time, platelet count and a generalised blood picture to rule out any leukemias or aplastic anaemia.A bone marrow investigation may be required in some cases. This is unlikely to occur due to stress or diet problems.
