Bruised Painful Ankle And Leg After An Injury To Shin. How Long Will It Take To Be Normal?

I got hit in the shin a few inches above the ankle by a line drive playing softball last week. I iced it a few times a day & it's just been bruised but now my ankle on both sides of the leg is swelling & bruising, too. My knee is also a but achy, probably from somewhat limping due to the ankle swelling. I don't think it is anything too serious and just started a new job so my insurance doesn't kick in until June 1st, but I want to be sure it is just a normal healing process. Any advice?

Hi there ~

I am sorry to hear about the hit on your shin above the ankle while playing softball. I feel like you will do well with using analgesics, that are available over the counter. I also think that the injury is not too serious and now that you have insurance, I advice you to schedule an appointment with a doctor at the beginning of June to know what exactly is going on. Till then, take it easy and rest with good hydration and nutrition. I hope and wish the best for you.

Take care and have a lovely day!
