Brownish Spots On The Hand. What Are These?

Hi,
I have about 30-40 small light brown spots that appeared overnight on my right hand. They are not raised, do not itch, and look just like irregular shaped freckles. I do not have a lot of sun exposure and I am not fair skinned. I am not that old (in my early 20's) and have not changed my lotion, hand cream, etc. Any idea what it could be?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to Healthcare Magic.

After reading your query I can make out the best possibility of "Freckles" in your case. These are formed due to hyperactivity of the color giving cells known as melanocytes. This can be due to overexposure to sunlight. According to yourself there was no over exposure of sun. In this case also sometimes simple exposure of sunlight can cause the formation of freckles.
For the betterment do best of sun-protection. Sunscreen only would not be suffice, along with this kindly use full sleeves clothes along with cotton gloves on your hands in day time.
You can also apply certain skin-lightening agents such as glycolic acid and azelaic acid cream under medical guidance.
Eat a lot of vitamin A containing fruits.
Hope these informations will help.
