Firstly, you should exclude/confirm pregnancy
through a blood or urine test if you are sexually active. Secondly, it could be due to some hormonal
disturbance that has occurred due to some stress
, infection, use of certain medications or sudden weight changes. You may also need a trans-vaginal sonogram for a proper clarification in addition to blood counts, urinalysis
and a physical exam by a specialist. Management is based on the presence/absence of pregnancy, hormonal imbalances and other causative factors. Hope this helps.
