Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
A fractured tibia
needs an immobilization either in a cast or brace till it unites. Generally a fractured tibia takes around 12-16 weeks to unite.
Your pain will wane off slowly within 1-2 weeks of immobilization.
It is common to have a low grade fever
after a fracture owing to the release of inflammatory substances into the circulation as a result of fracture.
Keep your limb in elevation most of the times and perform active toe movements.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
