Breathlessness. History Of Blocked Nose. Using Sudafed. Itching Nose, Dry Eyes, Cough, Ringing Ears, Weight Gain

I have recently become very breathless and am finding it difficult to get a "full breath" - I have been suffering from blocked nose for a couple of years and have been using Sudafed nasal spray for the past couple of years on and off. Lately I have also had itching in my nose and dry eyes and have put this down to hay fever although I have not suffered with it before and am controlling it with antihistimes which seem to be making the symptoms less noticable. I also have a peristent annoying "cough" which is more of a clearing of the throat - like I can't get it cleared. I also have an ear pain which is intermittent and have had a scan but nothing could be found. My hearing blocks now and again and I get ringing in my ears sometimes. I have a hiatus hernia and wondered if the breathless symptoms could be related to this but I have had it for the past 24 years with no real problems - although lately I have gained a little weight so maybe this is why? Lastly I suffer from really bad trapped wind almost every day which is extremely painful and coupled with embarassing noises coming from within but it sounds like I'm passing wind!! I'm not sure if any of these symptoms are connected and when writing it all down I do sound like I'm falling to bits at the seams!!! I had a hystorectomy when I was 28 (I'm amost 48 now) and wondered if some of the symptoms were even down to the menopause (I kept my ovaries). Don't know if you could shed any light on anything but it would be appreciated.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.

Sneezing,
dry cough,
whistling sound from mouth and nose during breathing,
Red eyes or tears from eyes,
nose blockage,
mucus from nose ( may be or not0,
Difficulty in breathing,
Ringing in ears,
ear pain ,
sore throat,
Post nasal drip,
Aggravation due to sudden change in temperature ( increase or decrease),

All these symptoms are due to asthmatic allergic bronchitis.
If these symptoms remains for three months in a year and consecutively for three years, patient may develops C O P D ( congestive obstructive Pulmonary disease).
Since you are approaching to menopause but these symptoms are not related to menopause in any way ,so need not to bother.
Avoidance are mite,
dust,
hay,
pollen ,
smoke,
fumes,
fine dusting powder,
sudden temperature change.
So consult a physician and get in blood examination as well as X ray chest ( if any change in lungs).

So please take precautions as prevention is the best cure.
Hope I have answered your query.
If further any question I Will help.
Good luck for health.
