Breast Cancer Survivor, Mastectomy, Diep Flap Reconstruction. On Letrozole. What Can Be Expected?
I am a recent breast cancer survivor recovering from mastectomy and diep flap reconstruction in February. Do not need chemo...do need arimitas inhibitor. Been on Letrozole for three months.....incredible amount of hair loss. Just switched this past Tues to anastrozole for one month to see if switching will help. Any data supporting this is a better or worse med then Letrozole? I did not want to take Tomoxifin again.....gained 25 lbs first time taking it w first breast diagnosis in 2001......then it was DCIS treatment lumpectomy and 7weeks of radiation and 5years of Tomoxifin.
Hi there, These two agents are considered near equivalent in their efficacies and there is no concrete data to prove one inferior or superior. Though some experts believe anastrozole may be slighly better due to more selectivity and less adrenal side effects. I hope it helps, take care
