Hello Mr Bajaj,

Common cold usually results from virus infection. Your symptoms point to the possibility of muscle pains associated with virus infections. Fever is not always seen in such cases. You may try the age-old remedy such as fomentation with hot (but not scalding) salt water for 5-10 minutes, every 3-4 hours. Pain balms and hot-water bottles may also reduce the discomfort.

Did you have a chance of exposure to muddy water or water contaminated with rat excreta? If your pain is not improving with simple remedies, please consult your doctor. He may like to test you for other diseases which can have severe muscle pain.

Pain in the calf muscles is a bad symptom, needing urgent consultation.

Wishing you a speedy recovery from thigh pain at the earliest
