You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ endocrinologist
and should go for thorough check up.
Diabetes should not be considered as raised blood sugar and it is associated with complications involving almost all organs of body.
Your father should also go for glycated hemoglobin
, complete lipid profile
, renal function test, urine routine microscopy.
He should proper medication for control of blood sugar in defined range.
He should also go for serum C peptide level to know secretion of insulin
