Blood sugar high, no medicines, joint pains, on diet and exercise. High blood sugar due to lack of sleep?

Hi Doctor, my waking blood sugar registers at 129 which is the highest I ve ever been. I am not on medication . I m supposed to be controlling with diet and exercise. I am active during the day but I do not routinely exercise due joint pains. I did not sleep well last night, would that have any effect on my increased blood sugar?
