Blood stools, vomiting, sickness. What is wrong?

my partner is pooing blood ( quite a bit ) and has also been vomiting for no reason recently, hes 27, usually fit and well apart from a sick complaint... it happened a few weeks ago for the first time and now keep happening, but also with sickness.... he feels generaly well. he works long hours as a concreter. whats up with him????
