Hi Dr. Grief,
I have less blood pressure variation during the day and have dramatic blood pressure variation at night. Sometimes the y high blood pressure at night could be 181/75 or even 196/87 when I stand or sit. But the blood pressure is lower when I lay down (158/72 or 168/77). Currently my GP ask me taking Amlodipine 2.5 mg at night and over the past 3 days, overall night blood pressure is ok. But if I go to toilet at night, the blood pressure can change from 120/57 to 160/76. After a few minutes which I get back to the bed, the blood pressure change back to 120/73. What may cause my BP dramatic variation? Does it necessary to take the medicine or which doctor should I see?
Thanks,
Sherry
