Blood Pressure Suddenly Spikes To 150/90. Why ?

I get dizzy sometimes and almost pass out. I had a doctors appointment and I was already feeling dizzy when i went in for my appointment. My doctor checked my blood preassure and it was 150/90 which is really high for me usually i run about 130/70. My bp went down a few minutes later but my doctor said that she wouldn t put me on blood preasure med s until I have another abnormal bp reading. Today I got really dizzy and called 911 when they came out they checked my bp and the original reading was 159/96 and then i wasn t dizzy anymore and they checked my bp again and it was normal. This happens to me a couple times a week, I m wondering if you knew why my bp would spike like this? Sometimes my heart will beat really fast and i get really hot.

Hi,
You have not mentioned your age,if you are above 40,apart from blood pressure you require few more investigations.
You go for ECG,blood sugar and lipid profile.
To decide high blood pressure one or two times checking of bp is not enough. After the record of bp for about 10-15 days is necessary then and then we can conclude that you high bp or not.
There is variation of bp taking in the morning and in the evening.
