My son had what looked like a tiny blood blister on his chest. It popped this morning and was bleeding a bit but it didn't seem like much so I sent him off to school. When I took his shirt off he had dried blood all around the blister and when I went to wash it off it started bleeding again and won't stop. Its been about 30 minutes
Going by the description, it looks like your son has developed a lesion of pyogenic granuloma. Now this pyogenic granuloma is a benign lesion which is caused by vascular proliferation. It is a harmless lesion otherwise but the only problem is excessive bleeding, so early and adequate treatment of the lesion is very important.
Firstly to stop the bleeding, take a cloth dipped in Goldwater and give adequate pressure over the area for atleast 10 minutes. Now as far as the treatment of this skin condition is concerned, this lesion has to be removed by using any of the methods like cauterisation like chemical or electrocautery or radiofrequency removal. So I would recommend that you should visit a dermatologist soon for proper assessment and management. Hope it helps
