Blocked Ears, Numbness On The Body, Pain In The Thumb. Blood Tests Normal. Sinus Problem?

Hi, I have been getting a strange feeling down one side of my head and face and my ear feels blocked which I put down to sinus trouble. For the last week, I have been getting a numbness down one side of the body - hard to explain but it feels as if there is a draught blowing on it and it has gotten cold . Also pain has appeared in the thumb and forefinger joints which is quite painful. Had blood tests 6 months ago which showed up nothing but this feeling will not go away - is it just sinus trouble or something entirely different? Many thanks.

Hello
Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.
I read your query regarding one sided headache, sinus infection and ear pain. you have also complained about pain in thumb and finger. On analysis and co-relating your symptoms it is clear that your sinus infection had given rise to headache and from here infection drain to throat thus creating sore throat and now infection reaches to ear via Eustachian tube to develop blockade and pain in ear.
For proper treatment you should do following basic investigations-
(1) C.T. scan of paranasal sinuses.
(2) Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.
(3) Blood -CBC, ESR, blood sugar F & P.P.,
(4) Urine R & M.
After this much work through examination in necessary to find out some clinical findings and after their co-relation with inferences of investigations one can reach the final diagnosis and than after treatment may be planed .
As far as pain in thumb and one side body is concern this is a different issue for this you should consult doctor of internal medicine.

With Regards.
