Bleeding After Abortion. Ultrasound Normal. Prescribed Yasmin. Need To Undergo DNC Again?
My wife had an abortion 5 months back and after which she was bleeding every day and an ultrasound pelvis report showed there was no issue and doctor suggested to be on yasmin for 6 months whereas she is been bleeding on and off even after taking these tablets and now the pelvis scan report says Hetroechoic collection of size - 11.8 x 3.4 mm seen in the cavity. Does she has to undergo DNC again?
I am so sorry to hear about this continued bleeding. If the ultrasound shows a mass, then it must be taken out. She should benefit from another DNC. So long as the uterus is not empty, bleeding would continue. This can lead to anemia. Also, the mass would most likely become infected and compromise future chances of getting pregnant. The pills would in no way help stop the bleeding. consult your OBGYN and get this problem fixed once and for all.
I hope this helps and I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask more questions if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD
