Black Spot Near Eye. Laser Surgery. No Guaranteed Cure. Is That Safe? Shall I Continue?

Dear Sir

I am suffering from a disease nevus of ota , that is one black spot near my right eye.I have started taken laser surgery from Bangalore. The doctor told that it will take 5-6 sessions every month in which i have already taken one session of laser treatment. He used Q switched ND Yag Laser-4mm using speed of 700 MJ,5H2 and charged around Rs 4000/session.

The problem lies in my mind is that doctor told that it is not guaranteed that black spot will be removed permanently,it will only lightened.Secondly,he told that the black spot may arise after the all session will be completed anytime in future.

Please suggest whether i should continue with other sessions or consult other doctors as i feel it expensive treatment because he is not giving guarantee for removal of black spot permanently and also telling a chance of recurrence.Rs 4000/Session seems to be very high in this case.please tell the cheapest treatment in Bangalore for such disease.

Please suggest.....

hi,
first of all nevus of ota is nothing but melanocytes(pigment cells) in the skin layer.Yes ,its true that your condition requires multiple sessions of laser as this causes lightening of that area it destroys the melanocytes but why have you opted for the tratment is it for cosmetic reasons.if it is so then go on with it but keep it in mind you will need loads of sessions and recurrence rate is there according to the studies.Be carefull if you have same pigmentation elsewhere or ypur current mark is having some changes it can indicate melanoma changes and if you are having the nevi inside the eye also go for regular check ups to ophthalmologist as it can cause glaucoma as well.right now i dont know about cheapest tratment will have to do some research and then tell you.anymore questions ill be happy to oblige
take care and all the best.
