Black Ball Covering Right Eye With Blue Ring. What Could Be It?

Hi, While looking in the mirror last night I saw a round black ball covering my right eye. The ball had a blue ring around it. I could bare see my eye through the back ball. It only lasted for about 10-15 minutes. This is so strange. My eye doctor worked me in this morning it is not my eyes. He is sending me to a neurologist. I am female and I am 66 yrs old. Do you have any thoughts on this. Thank you.

hello and thank you for your question.
Signs and symptoms could be:
stroke
retinal detachment
early onset of migraine headache
tumor or other pressure on optic nerve
blood clot

Best to continue seeing your doctors to get these ruled out.

Regards,

Dr. Ward
