hello, thanks for posting your query. 1st i would like to know how deep is the cut? a) if just a superficial/shallow one.... all you need to do is rinse your mouth with betadine gargles thrice daily or more specifically every time you have food. Also, an antibiotic like ofloxacin with ornidazole twice daily for 3 days, will help to preventing infection(pus formation) in the wound. To eliminate the pain you can take any simple analgesic like paracetamol 500 mg, whenever required instead of benzocaine application,as it may delay healing. It usually takes 5-7 days to heal. b) if its a deep wound... it is always advisable to suture the wound to shorten the healing time, along with the above said. I hope i am able to clear your query.
