Hi, I have been bitten by my pet Dog. He is 7 year old & every year he was vaccinated only this year he was delayed & not given vaccine shot till date. I was bitten once in January 2013 & had taken Tetanus injection and my wound was healed. Now he has bitten me suddenly on 23 April 2013 on my left feet at the joint where Feet thumb is. Due to pain I did not wash with water & soap and found the feet swelling. I don"t have sugar in blood as I tested(both fasting & non fasting). So far I have taken Gentamicin 80mg/2ml (10 injection) as prerscribed by doctor and sweeling & infection was controlled but the wound have not healed completely & pus is ozzing out after some pain as the teeth of dog had touched the joint of Feet Thumb Joint. Now as I am taking AUGMENTIN 625 DUO (AMOXYCILLIN AND POTASSIUM CLAVULANATE TABLETS IP) and have already consumed 7 tablets and to be consumed 5 more. But still wound is not healed. I do not bandage the wound & use Betadine to clean & then use MegaHeal Tube gel on top of wound. The Dog is still alive & healthy & we are planning to leave the dog.
