Birth Defects From Progesterone Injections In 1 Month Pregnancy
Hi, I am 31 year old one month pregnant.I want to know HCG/progestron injections are safe.Does it have any birth defects. My Docter have prescribed me injection of HCG.I have taken once. How many are required more.?

There are no proven side effects of HCG/progesterone in pregnancy.These are given to support pregnancy till placenta completely overtakes the function of corpus luteum means upto 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Most of the Doctors prescribe weekly injections,means,you would have to take 7or8 injections.

There is no proven teratogenic side effect of HCG/progesterone in pregnancy,means,these injections don't harm foetus,but,you may have nausea,bloating sensation,water retention,weight gain.These injections are given weekly upto12 weeks of gestation,means,8or9 injections will be required.
