Bad vaginal smell, thick and clumpy discharge. STD negative. Treatment for UTI not effective

Hey I have had a really back vaginal smell with thick clumply discharge and I saw my doctor who tested for s.t.ds and other things they were normal and showed up I had a u.t.i I took meds and it came back affter all the meds were gone since the past 6months I have been treated for a u.t.i that seems to keep showin up in test & I treated myself for a yest infection and nothings helping?

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

First you should have a routine urine examination and urine culture and sensitivity. This will identify if there is any urinary tract infection which could be a cause for that pain. Antibiotics may be required if urinary infection is identified . Antibiotics should be prescribed by your doctor based on culture and sensitivity report. Drinking of plenty of water will help if Urinary tract infection is detected.

Recurrent urinary tract infection should be investigated with ultrasound abdomen, MCU, DMSA Scan etc for identifying the etiology of that recurrence.
