Bactrim, Mupirocin And Ibuprofen Offering No Relief For Staph Infected, Swollen And Painful Eyes. How To Treat This?

I went to the doctor on Thursday, it's now Saturday. I was told I had an infected hair and probably a staph infection from it. I was given Bactrim and Mupirocin. My eye is almost swollen shut, I can't sleep from the throbbing pain, it's hurting so bad my too teeth hurt. The swelling is worse and a rash spread across my face. Hot compresses are not working, ibuprofen is only relieving the pain for an hour at a time. Please help!

Hello,
It seems from the history that you are having infection of the hair follicle of the eye lash called as external hordeolum or stye.
Since you have taken treatment with Bactrim and Mupirocin and it is not responding to treatment the next option is to change the antibiotic. The best thing to do is change the antibiotic depending on the culture and sensitivity report of conjunctival swab.
Along with this you need to undergo evaluation for causes which may be leading to this condition like diabetes or chronic blepharitis and these need to be treated along with the treatment for hordeolum.
