Baby Suffering From Cold And Cough With Green Mucus. Giving S-Mucolite. What Is The Recommended Quantity?
Hi,
My baby is 16 months old and she is having cough and cold. I can see mucus coming through her nose which is light green in color and we can realize when she coughs. At present i am giving S-Mucolite (2.5 ml 1-0-1) for cough.
I would like to know whether Novamox 100mg/ml is recommended for her. If yes, what should be the recommended quantity that i can give. Please advice

Hi,
Your 16mths old baby is likely to be suffering from Viral upper respiratory tract infection.
Giving Salmucolite which is a Bronchodilator and Antibiotic without the doctor having assessed her could serve no benefit.
So i would advise you to get her examined by the doctor before administering such medication.

Your baby is having respiratory symptoms which are mostly viral in nature and settles in few days.
Antibiotics should be given only in case of bacterial infection.
I suggest you not to do any self medication.
Give her plenty of fluids.warm water will be soothing.
Give her steam inhalation as it helps in loosening of secretions.
If symptoms persist or there is any fever or rapid breathing get her evaluated by pediatrician for proper management.
