Baby Smells Like Vinegar. Is It Diabetes? Why Is He Fussy?

Hi my 6 month old smells like vinegar ? He has been very fussy lately and I don t know what is wrong with him? He spits up a lot and acts as if his belly hurts. The dr said its not reflux . Is it possible that it could be diabetes? The last time we had him to the dr she said his liver was enlarged but the blood work came back as normal. I had gestational diabetes .He also has red marks at the base of his neck and constantly nurses. He has ever since he was born and has always been a bad sleeper.

Diabetologist 's  Response
HI
THANKS FOR CHOOSING HCM,
If mother has gestational diabetes, adverse outcomes may be seen in the infant too
with the history you are giving,it is better to rule out diabetes
the earlier the better ,because generally in children with diabetes ,it gets diagnosed when the child has gone to diabetic ketoacidosis condition(which throws us into more severe problems)
so it is better to consult a doctor without delay and get the glucose levels tested
this could be normal in some infants but you with gestational diabetes, it is better to clarify even the minute doubt
HOPE I ANSWERED YOUR QUERY
