Baby Pooping In Greenish Colour. Grainy, Watery. Problem, Feeding Suggestions?
Hi, My kid is 4 months old now.she is pooping in greenish color at least 7 or 8 times per day.it looks like grainy and watery too.she is not vomiting and no fever.it has been 7 days since she started pooping like this. She is taking both breast milk and formula too.but I have not taken any spicy and outside food. What could be the problem and what can I continue for her feeding.either breast or formula? Thanks in advance, thirumagal manikandan
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Your baby is having diarrhea which is mostly viral in nature and settles in few days.
Give EXCLUSIVE BREAST feeding till six months of age.
Bottle becomes a sourse of infection.
Give oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stool.
Give lactobacillus for 2 to 3 days
Watch for any feature of dehydration like decreased urine output/lethargy/refusal of feeds and in case you observe any get her evaluated by pediatrician.
Wishing your baby good health.
God bless..

Baby Pooping In Greenish Colour. Grainy, Watery. Problem, Feeding Suggestions?
Hi Thirumagal Manikandan, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. Your child seems having an episode of diarrhea due to a virus because of some contamination most probably due to formula feeds. Exclusive breastfeeding till the age of 6 months is the best method of feeding. So I advise you to give only breast feeding to the child till the age of 6 months. The mainstay of treatment in diarrhea is to maintain hydration by giving sips of ORS like Pedialyte. Probiotic and zinc can be added to treatment in prescribed dose. Consult your pediatrician for the assessment of the child and for medication advise. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
