Baby Having Recurring Fever Even After Giving Ibugesic Plus. How To Stop Fever?
Hi, my 19 month baby have fever since yesterday. I given have Ibugesic plus syrup 2 ml. yesterday he was fit after taking medicine and again got fever then again given him medicine. again he was fit but today I given 2 dose of same medicine 1st at 5 AM and 2nd at 11 AM. but still he is suffering from fever. fever is not more than 101 degree centigrate. what to do now. can I give Ibugesic plus 4 times in a day or what....please suggest..

This might be a case of viral fever.
It might last for 3-4 days.Please avoid ibugesic plus for fever.
It has more side effects than paracetamol alone.
Give paracetamol syrup every 4hrly if fever occurs.
Sponge the baby with tepid water if fever appears within 4 hrs.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.

The fever is actually not a disease but a symptom that reflects that some sort of infection is going on inside the body. The ibugesic will control fever for the time of its duration of action but will reoccur after its effects ends.
It is recommended to have a visit to a pediatrician to find out the infectious origin and prescription of effective antibiotic.

Ibugesic plus is a combination of brufen and paracetamol. Brufen is a potent pain-killer. It is not usually prescribed for fever. Paracetamol in this combination is in lower dose than required for fever. I would recommend paracetamol suspension for fever for kids. It is available over the counter at pharmacies. In adequate doses it will be able to control fever. It is given as required or four times daily.
