BP Has Increased And Taking Met XL 50. Sweating And Experience Fatigue. Stomach Has Grown Beyond Proportion. Side Effect?
I am a female(53) . Approximately 2yrs ago my blood pressure shot up to 200(upper) 140(lower) I consulted a doctor and was advised to have met XL 50 (dosage 1 per day after breakfast) . I was asked to follow up but didn t do so due to my busy schedule. Lately I have experienced certain changes in my body and suspect it is due to the prescribed medicine. I tend to sweat a lot and experience fatigue very soon. It has become difficult for me to keep up with my schedule. Most importantly my stomach has grown beyond proportion whereas my remaining body is normal. I am worried that my medication is the cause of my every increasing stomach. Can you please help me.
Thanks for the query. This is very unlikely to be related to the medication, in terms of the increased abdominal girth; the fatigue, it is possible but is usually a very early side effect.
I would be actually concerned about complications of hypertension causing the symptoms, mainly heart failure; you should see your physician as soon as possible for sure.
Hope this helps, yours truly,
