Awaiting Pacemaker Surgery, No Cholesterol, No Clots And Possible Tia. Should He Take Simvasatin?

Should a 78 year old man with heart failure awaiting a paemaker surgery with a pulse running 35-40bpm, perfect cholesterol, without clots, who had one "possible" tia be taking 80 mg of simvasatin. He worked out his whole life until he aquired the heart failure condition. Doctors couldn't find anything to cause heart failure or tia.

Micro-vascular disease, viral infection, primary disease of heart muscle and so on – could be responsible / and it is often difficult to pin point the reason...
Statins are sometimes given, in spite of normal cholesterol levels / they have beneficial actions beyond cholesterol - like antioxidant properties, plague stabilisation and so on... / 80 mg of simvastatin sounds high...
