Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

The standard teaching is that if the symptoms are not resolving with conservative management for over a period of 6 months , then surgical decompression of the disc is indicated.

Also, if more than 2 consulting surgeons have suggested surgical management, then i feel its the right decision.

Hope this information is helpful. Good luck

Hello,

You have tried all possible medical option available but in vain.

So now the other way out is surgery.

It is always better to have a second opinion if you're not able to make a decision.
But if that is going to delay and make your condition worse and permanent then stick to the first opinion.

You need to decide what is best for you.
